Off to the Bahamas

Well it's hard to believe but our first month of being untethered has flown by here in Ponte Vedra, FL.  We've had an amazing time doing "boot camp".  Our days have been filled with lots of exercise ranging from long road bike trips to swimming miles of laps, weight lifting and running.  We've managed to shape up and lose a few unwanted pounds.  We've also managed to get a few rounds of golf in as well as dust off our very rusty tennis game.

Of course we've had plenty of down time to catch up on our backlog of reading as well as continue to research the countries we intend to visit.  Caught the Jacksonville Jazz Festival this past weekend and heard some amazing artists who delivered phenomenal performances even though the temperatures were well about 100 this weekend!
We've also accomplished a few more things on our "to do" list.  We sold Cheryl's car which was an interesting experience given how much we identify our independence with having a car.  We also purchased our International health insurance from a fabulous on-line broker  at  www.internationalinsurance.com.  The plan we chose is similar to the one we've had for years with an annual premium of $7300 for the two of us.  That's about a $5,000 savings for us versus what we would pay inside the US. We are lucky in that both of us are healthy and intend to keep getting even healthier with our new fitness schedule.

On Saturday we leave for the Bahamas.  We've already lined up several scuba dive trips and will probably snorkel every day.  We promise to post more regularly and share pictures of the great places we find along the way.

Hoping this finds all of you doing well.  Dan & Cheryl
